Abstract

This workshop will walk you through the fundamentals of building terminal user interfaces, shedding light on how they function and giving you a solid grasp of their inner workings.

Together, we will incrementally build a full-fledged TUI application using Rust and Ratatui, and demo it live. No prior experience with TUIs is required but introductory Rust knowledge is expected. Also, come with your ideas and a laptop - we will also assist you in bringing your dream TUI into life!

You will learn the essential concepts, common approaches, and programming patterns when it comes to building TUIs with Rust, and how to implement them effectively to create seamless user experiences in the terminal. After this workshop, you will walk away equipped with practical skills and knowledge ready to be a part of the TUI ecosystem.

Bon appétit! 🧀
