Abstract
The Rust language has done a good job at designing the language so that you could in principle reimplement most of the things from the standard library in your own code. However, there are some cases where the standard library is "special", that is, it has the ability to do things that normal Rust code can't do.
This talk will cover some cases where we are making the Rust standard library less special, so that you will be able to do things that previously only the Rust standard library could do. This will help projects such as the Linux kernel that want to implement their own Box.
