Abstract
Anachro-PC is an in-progress teaching architecture for learning about building complex embedded systems in Rust. Anachro-PC is a simplified version of a PC, where every component can be built from commodity microcontrollers. It aims to be fault-tolerant and simulation-friendly for rapid development.
This talk will explore the current status and design choices for the in-development Anachro-PC architecture. Anachro-PC is a hobbyist/teaching architecture with the goal of making it easy for anyone to build their own entire PC system from scratch, using low cost and readily available microcontrollers and development boards. Anachro-PC is aiming to achieve performance numbers somewhere in the neighborhood of an old 286/386 DOS style PC.
