All around software developer, I started my career as a backend Python developer, later learned frontend development with Javascript, then got interested in DevOps and learned how to work with containers and k8s.
I recently became passionate about Rust, and I'm currently working with the language on a daily basis, working on a platform to build data pipelines with a Rust engine exposed as a Python library.
This is the story of how I started optimizing a python microservice at work, while learning Rust at home. After having read “The Rust book” I tried to reimplement the algorithm in Rust as an exercise, and the results were astonishing.
