This talk will go through a novel application of a SIMD algorithm to parse integers of fixed length (16 bytes) and apply it to strings of variable length. Also included: a basic SIMD explanation and a few common SIMD tricks.
I work as a software engineer at Prima, with a focus on "traditional" backend development and making my stakeholders happy. Over the years I've made a few (mostly unfinished!) side projects to explore different aspects of computing such as compilers, low level networking and high performance solutions to simple problems.
This talk will go through a novel application of a SIMD algorithm to parse integers of fixed length (16 bytes) and apply it to strings of variable length. Also included: a basic SIMD explanation and a few common SIMD tricks.
